The FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming soon – and so are millions of visitors, which is anticipated to generate significant traffic congestion and delays in June and July. Matches will take place in East Rutherford, New Jersey (NYNJ Stadium) and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia Field) from June 11 through July 19. Also, “Fan Festivals” with live match broadcasts, music, and performances will be hosted in Harrison, NJ (at Sports Illustrated Stadium) and Philadelphia (at Lemon Hill) during this period.
To help reduce congestion as much as possible and avoid getting stuck in traffic, we are strongly encouraging employees to:
- Work remotely
- Adjust work start and end times
- Stagger shifts to avoid travel between 5 hours before and after kickoff
- Refrain from scheduling in-person meetings on match days
- Carpool or vanpool.
It will be particularly beneficial to avoid non-essential travel between 5 hours before and 5 hours after kickoff and in “hotspots” where matches are being played. Information on match locations, dates, and times can be found below:
